Ingredients:

  • 2 sheets ready-made puff pastry (approx. 14 oz / 400g each)
  • 6 oz / 170g thinly sliced cooked ham
  • 4 oz / 115g shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 oz / 55g cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard (optional)
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • Everything Bagel Seasoning, poppy seeds or sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Gently unfold puff pastry onto a lightly floured surface. Roll out to even creases.
  2. Spread softened cream cheese evenly over pastry. Spread dijon mustard optionally, and then Layer with ham and sprinkle with cheddar cheese.
  3. Starting from one long edge, tightly roll the pastry into a log. Wrap tightly in plastic wrap and chill for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C/Gas Mark 6). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Slice the log into ½-inch (1.25 cm) thick pinwheels.
  5. Place pinwheels on the baking sheet, leaving space. Brush each with beaten egg and sprinkle with bagel seasoning, poppy seeds or sesame seeds.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly. Let cool slightly before serving.
