Ingredients:
- Large russet potatoes (baking potatoes), 1 per person (approximately 8-12 ounces / 225-340 grams each)
- Olive oil, 1 tablespoon (15 ml) per potato
- Coarse sea salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Wash potatoes thoroughly and pat dry. Prick each potato several times with a fork.
- Rub potatoes with olive oil, ensuring even coverage. Sprinkle generously with coarse sea salt and black pepper.
- Place potatoes directly on the baking sheet (no need for foil) and bake for 60-90 minutes, or until the skin is crispy and a fork easily pierces the center of the potato. The internal temperature should be around 210°F (99°C).
- Squeeze the potato gently. It should feel soft and yielding.
- Cut a slit in the top of each potato, fluff the insides with a fork, and add your favorite toppings. Serve immediately.
