Ingredients:

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cut into small pieces
  • 2 tablespoons ice water
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups pecans, roughly chopped
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add ice water and mix until dough forms.
  3. Press dough evenly into the prepared pan. Bake for 20 minutes until lightly golden. Let cool slightly.
  4. In a saucepan, combine brown sugar, honey, butter, heavy cream, and salt. Stir until smooth. Bring mixture to a boil and let it boil for 1 minute without stirring.
  5. Remove from heat, stir in pecans and vanilla extract. Pour filling over the pre-baked crust, spreading evenly.
  6. Return to oven and bake for an additional 20-25 minutes until filling is bubbling and set.
  7. Let cool completely in the pan on a wire rack. Use parchment to lift out, cut into squares or rectangles, and serve.
