Ingredients:
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cut into small pieces
- 2 tablespoons ice water
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup honey
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons heavy cream
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups pecans, roughly chopped
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Whisk together flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add ice water and mix until dough forms.
- Press dough evenly into the prepared pan. Bake for 20 minutes until lightly golden. Let cool slightly.
- In a saucepan, combine brown sugar, honey, butter, heavy cream, and salt. Stir until smooth. Bring mixture to a boil and let it boil for 1 minute without stirring.
- Remove from heat, stir in pecans and vanilla extract. Pour filling over the pre-baked crust, spreading evenly.
- Return to oven and bake for an additional 20-25 minutes until filling is bubbling and set.
- Let cool completely in the pan on a wire rack. Use parchment to lift out, cut into squares or rectangles, and serve.
