Ingredients:
- 5 oz White Rum or Vodka
- 75 oz Peppermint Schnapps
- 75 oz Irish Cream Liqueur
- 5 oz Whole Milk or Cream
- 1 dash Vanilla Extract
- Ice Cubes for Shaking
- 2 Tbsp Granulated Sugar (for rim)
- 2 Tbsp Crushed Candy Canes (for rim)
- 1 Lime Wedge (for rimming)
- 1 Small Candy Cane (for garnish)
Instructions:
- Chill the coupe or Martini glass in the freezer for at least 15 minutes.
- On a small plate, mix the granulated sugar and finely crushed candy canes thoroughly. Moisten the outer rim of the chilled glass using the lime wedge, then gently dip and roll the outer edge into the sugar mixture until evenly coated. Set aside.
- In the cocktail shaker, measure and pour the White Rum/Vodka, Peppermint Schnapps, and Irish Cream.
- Add the half-ounce of milk/cream and the dash of vanilla extract to the shaker.
- Fill the shaker two-thirds full with quality ice. Seal tightly and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds until the shaker tin is frosty cold.
- Double-strain the mixture into the prepared, rimmed glass. Double-straining (using the shaker’s strainer and a fine mesh sieve) ensures a smooth texture.
- Gently hook a small candy cane onto the rim of the glass and serve immediately.
