Ingredients:
- 1 pound (450 g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tablespoons (30 mL) olive oil
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1/3 cup (100 g) honey
- 1/4 cup (60 mL) soy sauce (low sodium preferred)
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon (15 g) fresh ginger, minced or grated
- 1 tablespoon (15 mL) rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
- 1 teaspoon (5 g) sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon (5 g) red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
- 2 green onions, sliced
- Sesame seeds, for sprinkling
Instructions:
- Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat dry with paper towels. Season with salt and pepper.
- In a bowl, combine honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, ginger, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes. Whisk until well mixed.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp in a single layer and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until they turn pink and opaque.
- Pour the honey garlic sauce over the cooked shrimp in the skillet. Stir to coat and simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
- Remove from heat, then sprinkle with sliced green onions and sesame seeds. Serve immediately.
