Ingredients:

  • 1-4 ears of corn, in their husks
  • Optional: 1-2 tablespoons water
  • Optional: Salt to taste
  • Optional: Butter to taste
  • Optional: Other toppings of your choice

Instructions:

  1. If desired, trim the silks protruding from the end of the corn cob. Leave the husk on.
  2. Place the corn ears, still in their husks, directly onto a microwave-safe plate. If corn looks dry, add a tablespoon of water to the plate.
  3. Microwave on high for 3-4 minutes per ear. Cooking time depends on the wattage of the microwave. 1-2 ears use 3-4 minutes. 3-4 ears use 5-8 minutes.
  4. Carefully remove one ear from the microwave using oven mitts or tongs. The corn is done when the kernels are tender and easily pierced with a fork. If not done, continue to microwave in 30-second intervals until cooked.
  5. Let the corn cool slightly before shucking. Hold the top of the corn and firmly peel back the husk towards the base. The silks should come off with the husk.
  6. Season with salt, butter, and your favourite toppings to your liking. Enjoy your microwave corn on the cob!
