Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground turkey (93% lean)
- 1/4 cup yellow onion, finely grated
- 1 tbsp light mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 4 whole-grain buns
- 4 slices sharp white cheddar cheese
- Lettuce
- Tomato
- Red onion
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, combine the grated onion, light mayo, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper, stirring until they form a paste.
- Add the ground turkey to the bowl and gently fold the mixture together with your hands until just combined; do not overwork the meat.
- Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties approximately 3/4 inch (2cm) thick.
- Using your thumb, press a shallow indent (dimple) into the center of each patty to ensure even cooking.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat (375°F to 400°F / 190°C to 200°C) and lightly oil the grates.
- Grill the patties until they reach the desired internal temperature, adding cheese slices during the final minute of cooking.
- Assemble the burgers on buns with lettuce, sliced tomato, and red onion.
