Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef (80/20 blend for optimal juiciness)
  • 1 packet (1 oz/28 g) ranch seasoning mix
  • 4 slices of cheddar cheese (optional)
  • 4 hamburger buns (preferably brioche or sesame seed)
  • 8 slices of cooked bacon
  • Lettuce leaves (for crunch)
  • Tomato slices
  • Pickles (optional)
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) sour cream
  • 2 tbsp (30 g) freshly chopped chives
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sour cream, chives, and salt and pepper. Set aside.
  2. In another bowl, combine ground beef and ranch seasoning. Mix until just incorporated. Form the mixture into 4 patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each.
  3. Preheat grill to medium-high heat. Grease the grates to prevent sticking.
  4. Place patties on the grill. Cook for 5-7 minutes on one side. Flip burgers and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C). Top each burger with a slice of cheddar cheese during the last minute of cooking to melt.
  5. Grill buns lightly on the cut side until toasted.
  6. Spread ranch sauce on the bottom half of each bun, add the burger patty, and layer with bacon, lettuce, tomato, and pickles. Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
