Ingredients:
- 1 cup Rolled Oats (Old Fashioned)
- 1 cup Water
- 1 ½ cups Milk (Whole or preferred alternative)
- 1/8 teaspoon Salt
- 2 tablespoons Maple Syrup (Grade A Dark)
- 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 1/4 cup Pecans, roughly chopped
- 1 teaspoon Unsalted Butter
Instructions:
- Melt the unsalted butter in a small non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped pecans and toast until fragrant (about 2-3 minutes). Remove immediately and set aside.
- In a medium saucepan, combine the water, milk, and salt. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium heat.
- Stir in the rolled oats. Reduce the heat immediately to low.
- Cook uncovered, stirring frequently, for about 10–12 minutes, or until the oats have absorbed most of the liquid and reached a creamy consistency.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat. Stir in the maple syrup and vanilla extract. Let it stand, covered, for 2 minutes to ensure maximum creaminess.
- Divide the oatmeal into two bowls. Top generously with the toasted pecans and serve immediately.
