- 1 pound (454g) breakfast sausage, casings removed
- 3 cups (360g) Bisquick baking mix
- 4 ounces (113g) sharp cheddar cheese, shredded (about 1 cup)
- 1/4 cup (59ml) milk
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon dried sage (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat (if using).
- In a large bowl, combine the breakfast sausage, Bisquick, cheddar cheese, milk, garlic powder (if using), and dried sage (if using).
- Using your hands, mix the ingredients thoroughly until everything is evenly distributed. The mixture should be slightly sticky.
- Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls. A cookie scoop can help you get even sizes.
- Arrange the sausage balls on the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between each.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the sausage balls are golden brown and cooked through. The internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C).
- Let the sausage balls cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before serving.
