Ingredients:
- 1.5 cups frozen mixed berries (blueberries, raspberries, blackberries)
- 0.5 frozen banana, sliced
- 0.5 cup plain nonfat Greek yogurt
- 0.25 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- 0.5 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions:
- Pour 0.25 cup unsweetened almond milk into the bottom of the blender. Note: Liquid must always hit the blades first to create a vortex.
- Add 0.5 cup plain nonfat Greek yogurt on top of the milk.
- Drop in 0.5 tsp vanilla extract.
- Add 1 tbsp chia seeds. Note: This ensures they are fully hydrated by the liquid at the bottom.
- Layer the 0.5 frozen banana slices over the yogurt.
- Top with 1.5 cups frozen mixed berries until the jar looks frosty and full.
- Start the blender on the lowest speed.
- Increase speed slowly while using a tamper to push the frozen fruit into the blades until you hear a deep, rhythmic hum.
- Blend for only 45-60 seconds total until the mixture forms four distinct peaks (the vortex).
- Transfer immediately to a chilled bowl.
