Ingredients:

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 package (10 oz) mini marshmallows or 6 cups regular marshmallows
  • 6 cups crispy rice cereal
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • ½ cup chocolate chips or drizzled chocolate (optional)
  • Sprinkles for decoration (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Grease the 9x13-inch baking dish with butter or line it with wax paper for easy removal.
  2. In a large saucepan over low heat, melt the butter until fully liquefied.
  3. Stir in the marshmallows. Continue to mix until completely melted and smooth (about 3-5 minutes).
  4. If using, add the vanilla extract and stir until combined.
  5. Remove from heat. Gradually add the crispy rice cereal, folding gently to coat until everything is evenly combined.
  6. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and press down firmly with a spatula or wax paper to create an even layer.
  7. Allow the treats to cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes. Once set, cut into squares and serve.
