Ingredients:
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 package (10 oz) mini marshmallows or 6 cups regular marshmallows
- 6 cups crispy rice cereal
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
- ½ cup chocolate chips or drizzled chocolate (optional)
- Sprinkles for decoration (optional)
Instructions:
- Grease the 9x13-inch baking dish with butter or line it with wax paper for easy removal.
- In a large saucepan over low heat, melt the butter until fully liquefied.
- Stir in the marshmallows. Continue to mix until completely melted and smooth (about 3-5 minutes).
- If using, add the vanilla extract and stir until combined.
- Remove from heat. Gradually add the crispy rice cereal, folding gently to coat until everything is evenly combined.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and press down firmly with a spatula or wax paper to create an even layer.
- Allow the treats to cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes. Once set, cut into squares and serve.
