Ingredients:

  • 1 slice sourdough bread (thick-cut), or bread of choice
  • 1/2 ripe avocado
  • 1/2 teaspoon lime juice
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes (or more to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon everything bagel seasoning (or more to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: 1 fried egg, to top
  • Drizzle of extra virgin olive oil (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Toast the sourdough until golden brown and crispy.
  2. Halve the avocado, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a small bowl (or directly onto the toast).
  3. Mash the avocado with a fork until you reach your desired consistency. Add lime juice, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  4. Spread the avocado mixture evenly over the toasted bread.
  5. Sprinkle everything bagel seasoning over the avocado toast. Add a fried egg if desired. Drizzle with olive oil (optional). Serve immediately.
