Ingredients:
- 1 cup (2 sticks/226g) unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
- 1/4 cup (85g) honey, preferably wildflower or clover
- 2 tablespoons (16g) powdered sugar (icing sugar)
- 1 teaspoon (4g) ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon (1g) vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt (1/8 teaspoon)
Instructions:
- Ensure butter is properly softened. If in a rush, you can microwave it in short bursts, being careful not to melt it.
- Beat the softened butter with an electric mixer (or whisk vigorously) until light and fluffy. This incorporates air, making the butter extra smooth.
- Gradually pour in the honey and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined. Scrape down the sides of the bowl to ensure everything is evenly incorporated.
- Sift in the powdered sugar and cinnamon. Mix on low speed until just combined, being careful not to overmix. Add a pinch of salt.
- Transfer the butter to an airtight container. Chill for at least 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld and the butter to firm up (optional, but recommended for a spreadable consistency).
- Serve the honey cinnamon butter with warm rolls, biscuits, pancakes, waffles, or any other dish that could benefit from a touch of sweetness.
