Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (2 sticks/226g) unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
  • 1/4 cup (85g) honey, preferably wildflower or clover
  • 2 tablespoons (16g) powdered sugar (icing sugar)
  • 1 teaspoon (4g) ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1g) vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt (1/8 teaspoon)

Instructions:

  1. Ensure butter is properly softened. If in a rush, you can microwave it in short bursts, being careful not to melt it.
  2. Beat the softened butter with an electric mixer (or whisk vigorously) until light and fluffy. This incorporates air, making the butter extra smooth.
  3. Gradually pour in the honey and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined. Scrape down the sides of the bowl to ensure everything is evenly incorporated.
  4. Sift in the powdered sugar and cinnamon. Mix on low speed until just combined, being careful not to overmix. Add a pinch of salt.
  5. Transfer the butter to an airtight container. Chill for at least 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld and the butter to firm up (optional, but recommended for a spreadable consistency).
  6. Serve the honey cinnamon butter with warm rolls, biscuits, pancakes, waffles, or any other dish that could benefit from a touch of sweetness.
