Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (240 ml) pure maple syrup
  • ½ cup (120 ml) bourbon
  • 2 tablespoons (30 g) unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon (15 g) Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon (5 g) smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon (2 g) sea salt
  • ¼ teaspoon (1 g) black pepper

Instructions:

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine maple syrup and bourbon.
  2. Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring to a gentle boil.
  3. Reduce heat to low, allowing it to simmer, stirring occasionally.
  4. Add unsalted butter and Dijon mustard; whisk until melted and combined.
  5. Stir in smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  6. Simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until the glaze thickens slightly (should coat the back of a spoon).
  7. (Optional) Strain through a fine mesh strainer for a silky texture.
  8. Let cool slightly before using or storing.
