Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cold whole milk, vanilla extract, and dry instant pudding mix. Whisk vigorously for 2 minutes until thickened and glossy.
  2. If using powdered sugar for extra stiffness, sift it into the bowl with the pudding mixture. Gently fold it in using a silicone spatula until just combined.
  3. Add the thawed Cool Whip to the pudding base. Use a silicone spatula to gently fold the mixture using a 'cut and fold' motion until fully incorporated. Do not overmix or use an electric mixer.
