Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (240 ml) honey (preferably raw or local)
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) apple cider vinegar (optional, for tanginess)
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 g) salt (to taste)

Instructions:

  1. In a small saucepan, pour in the honey and place it over low heat.
  2. While the honey is warming, add the red pepper flakes to the pot.
  3. Stir gently to combine, allowing the mixture to heat for about 5-10 minutes.
  4. If desired, stir in apple cider vinegar and salt to taste.
  5. If you prefer a smoother texture, pour the hot honey through a fine mesh strainer into a jar.
  6. Let the hot honey cool completely before sealing the jar.
