Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (240 ml) apple cider vinegar
  • 1 cup (240 ml) ketchup
  • ½ cup (120 ml) mustard (preferably yellow)
  • ½ cup (100 g) brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tablespoon (15 g) salt
  • 1 teaspoon (5 g) black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon (5 g) cayenne pepper (adjust for spiciness)
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) hot sauce (like Frank's RedHot)

Instructions:

  1. In a medium saucepan, add apple cider vinegar, ketchup, and mustard.
  2. Stir in brown sugar, salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce.
  3. Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer while stirring occasionally.
  4. Allow it to simmer for about 15 minutes or until the sauce thickens slightly, stirring regularly.
  5. Remove from heat and let it cool completely before transferring to an airtight container.
