- 1 cup (240 ml) ketchup
- ½ cup (120 ml) mustard (preferably yellow)
- ½ cup (100 g) brown sugar, packed
- 1 tablespoon (15 g) salt
- 1 teaspoon (5 g) black pepper
- 1 teaspoon (5 g) cayenne pepper (adjust for spiciness)
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) hot sauce (like Frank's RedHot)
Instructions:
- In a medium saucepan, add apple cider vinegar, ketchup, and mustard.
- Stir in brown sugar, salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce.
- Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer while stirring occasionally.
- Allow it to simmer for about 15 minutes or until the sauce thickens slightly, stirring regularly.
- Remove from heat and let it cool completely before transferring to an airtight container.
