Ingredients:
- 4 cups (600g) fresh blackberries
- 2 tbsp (30ml) fresh lemon juice
- 2 cups (400g) granulated white sugar
Instructions:
- Place the fresh blackberries in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir occasionally for 5–8 minutes until the berries break down and release their juices.
- Press the hot mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a clean bowl, using a spatula to push all the pulp through. Discard the seeds.
- Return the seedless pulp and lemon juice to the saucepan.
- Stir in the sugar over medium heat until completely dissolved.
- Increase heat to medium-high and bring the mixture to a rolling boil.
- Boil the jam for 10–15 minutes, stirring frequently to prevent the sugar from burning on the bottom.
- Perform the plate test: drop a small spoonful onto a frozen plate; if it wrinkles when pushed with your finger, the jam is done.
