Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground sausage (mild or spicy)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup diced onion (optional)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 package refrigerated puff pastry (14 oz / 397g)
  • 1 large egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon water (for egg wash)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine ground sausage, shredded cheese, onion, garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix until fully incorporated.
  3. Unroll the puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface. Cut each sheet into 6 rectangles (3x4 inches).
  4. Place a generous spoonful of sausage filling on one end of each pastry rectangle. Roll the pastry tightly around the filling and seal the edges with a fork.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk the egg with water to make an egg wash. Brush the egg wash over the top of each roll-up.
  6. Place the roll-ups on a lined baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
  7. Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm!
