Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground sausage (mild or spicy)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup diced onion (optional)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced (optional)
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 package refrigerated puff pastry (14 oz / 397g)
- 1 large egg (for egg wash)
- 1 tablespoon water (for egg wash)
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground sausage, shredded cheese, onion, garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix until fully incorporated.
- Unroll the puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface. Cut each sheet into 6 rectangles (3x4 inches).
- Place a generous spoonful of sausage filling on one end of each pastry rectangle. Roll the pastry tightly around the filling and seal the edges with a fork.
- In a small bowl, whisk the egg with water to make an egg wash. Brush the egg wash over the top of each roll-up.
- Place the roll-ups on a lined baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
- Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm!
