Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper if using.
  2. Split the 4 English Muffins horizontally and place the cut sides facing up on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. In a small bowl, combine the passata, tomato paste, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir well until smooth to create the sauce.
  4. Evenly spoon or brush the tomato mixture over the cut surface of each muffin half, leaving a small border clear around the edge. Do not over-sauce.
  5. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella evenly over the sauce on all four halves. Top with a dusting of grated Parmesan cheese.
  6. If using any additional toppings (like pepperoni or cooked mushrooms), distribute them evenly over the cheese layer.
  7. Place the tray in the preheated oven. Bake for 8–10 minutes, or until the cheese is completely melted, bubbling, and the edges of the muffin begin to turn golden brown.
  8. Carefully remove from the oven. Garnish immediately with fresh basil leaves, slice carefully, and serve piping hot.
