Ingredients:
- 1 lb pizza dough, room temperature
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 6 oz high-quality pepperoni slices
- 0.5 cup thick pizza sauce
- 1.5 cups low-moisture, part-skim shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp freshly grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions:
- Lightly dust your work surface with flour and roll the pizza dough into a 12x18 inch rectangle until it is nearly translucent.
- Using a pizza cutter, slice the dough into 12 even strips, approximately 1 inch wide.
- Spread a very thin layer of pizza sauce down the center of each dough strip.
- Arrange 5-6 pepperoni slices along the top edge of each strip, overlapping them so they hang about 50% above the dough line.
- Sprinkle mozzarella cheese and dried oregano over the sauce layer.
- Fold the bottom half of the dough strip upwards to partially cover the cheese, then roll the strip tightly from one end to the other to create the rose shape.
- Place each rose into a greased 12-slot muffin tin.
- Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 20 minutes or until the dough is golden and the pepperoni edges are crisp and mahogany-colored.
- Whisk melted butter, minced garlic, and Parmesan together; brush the mixture over the hot roses immediately after removing from the oven.
