Ingredients:

  • 4 tablespoons (55g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 tablespoons (38g) brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tablespoon (12g) granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 large egg
  • 1/2 cup (60g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1/3 cup (60g) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar in a bowl until smooth.
  3. Add the vanilla extract and 1/2 of a beaten egg to the butter mixture. Stir until fully incorporated.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually combine the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips gently.
  7. Chill the dough for 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
  8. Scoop the chilled dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them evenly.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  10. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
