Ingredients:
- 4 tablespoons (55g) unsalted butter, softened
- 3 tablespoons (38g) brown sugar, packed
- 1 tablespoon (12g) granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 large egg
- 1/2 cup (60g) all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- A pinch of salt
- 1/3 cup (60g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar in a bowl until smooth.
- Add the vanilla extract and 1/2 of a beaten egg to the butter mixture. Stir until fully incorporated.
- In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually combine the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips gently.
- Chill the dough for 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
- Scoop the chilled dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them evenly.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
