Ingredients:
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp lemon zest
- 1 tsp dried Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1.5 lbs chicken breasts
Instructions:
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the honey, lemon juice, and olive oil. Slowly whisk in the soy sauce, minced garlic, zest, and seasonings until the honey is completely dissolved.
- Place the chicken breasts in a resealable bag. Pour the marinade over the meat, squeezing out as much air as possible to ensure full surface contact. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (up to 4 hours).
- Heat a cast iron skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Remove chicken from the marinade, letting excess liquid drip off.
- Sear the chicken for 5–7 minutes per side until a mahogany-colored crust forms and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
