Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 1 tsp dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1.5 lbs chicken breasts

Instructions:

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the honey, lemon juice, and olive oil. Slowly whisk in the soy sauce, minced garlic, zest, and seasonings until the honey is completely dissolved.
  2. Place the chicken breasts in a resealable bag. Pour the marinade over the meat, squeezing out as much air as possible to ensure full surface contact. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (up to 4 hours).
  3. Heat a cast iron skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Remove chicken from the marinade, letting excess liquid drip off.
  4. Sear the chicken for 5–7 minutes per side until a mahogany-colored crust forms and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
