Ingredients:

  • 4 medium sweet potatoes (about 2 pounds or 900g)
  • 1 cup water (240 mL)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (30g)
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar (25g) or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (2g)
  • Salt to taste

Instructions:

  1. Rinse and scrub the sweet potatoes under running water. Peel (optional) and cut into quarters for faster cooking.
  2. Place the steamer basket inside the Instant Pot. Add sweet potatoes and pour in 1 cup of water.
  3. Secure the lid on the Instant Pot. Ensure the valve is set to sealing. Select the Manual/Pressure Cook setting and set timer to 15 minutes.
  4. Once cooking is complete
  5. Use a fork to test tenderness; sweet potatoes should be soft and easily pierced.
  6. Transfer to a serving dish and add desired toppings before serving.
