Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (15 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 15 oz ricotta cheese
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
- 9-12 lasagna noodles, broken to fit
- Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- Turn on the Instant Pot and select the sauté function. Add ground beef or sausage; cook until browned (around 5-7 minutes). Add onions and garlic; sauté until soft.
- Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Let it simmer for a few minutes, then turn off the sauté function.
- In a separate bowl, mix ricotta, egg, and Parmesan until combined.
- Spread a thin layer of meat sauce at the bottom of the pot. Layer noodles, cheese mixture, and meat sauce; repeat until ingredients are used. Finish with a layer of meat sauce topped with mozzarella.
- Seal the pot, set to high pressure, and cook for 30 minutes. Allow for a natural pressure release for about 10 minutes before quick-releasing any remaining pressure.
- Carefully remove the lasagna from the pot, garnish with basil or parsley, and slice to serve.
