Ingredients:

  • 6 medium apples, peeled, cored, and chopped
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (optional, adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions:

  1. Peel, core, and chop the apples into small chunks.
  2. In the Instant Pot, combine chopped apples, water, sugar (if using), cinnamon (if using), and lemon juice.
  3. Close the lid securely and set the valve to sealing. Cook on manual high pressure for 5 minutes.
  4. Allow the pot to naturally release pressure for 10 minutes, then carefully switch the valve to venting to release any remaining steam.
  5. Open the lid, stir, and use a potato masher for a chunky texture, or blend with an immersion blender for a smoother consistency.
  6. Taste the applesauce and adjust sweetness or spice as desired.
