Ingredients:

  • 2 cups (240g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) warm water (about 110°F or 43°C)
  • 1 teaspoon (4g) sugar
  • 1 teaspoon (6g) salt
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon (2g) active dry yeast

Instructions:

  1. In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour and salt.
  3. Make a well in the center of the flour mixture. Add the frothy yeast mixture and olive oil. Stir until a rough dough forms.
  4. Transfer dough to a floured surface. Knead vigorously for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Form the dough into a ball and place it in a greased bowl, covering it with a clean kitchen towel. Let it rest for 30 minutes in a warm place.
  6. During the resting time, preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C), and place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside.
  7. Once risen, punch down the dough and divide it into two portions. Roll out each portion into a circle, 12 inches in diameter.
  8. Transfer the shaped dough to parchment paper or a floured pizza peel. Add your favorite toppings.
  9. Slide the pizza onto the preheated stone or baking sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
  10. Let the pizza cool for a few minutes before slicing. Enjoy!
