Ingredients:
- 2 cups (240g) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup (120ml) warm water (about 110°F or 43°C)
- 1 teaspoon (4g) sugar
- 1 teaspoon (6g) salt
- 1 tablespoon (15ml) olive oil
- 1 teaspoon (2g) active dry yeast
Instructions:
- In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour and salt.
- Make a well in the center of the flour mixture. Add the frothy yeast mixture and olive oil. Stir until a rough dough forms.
- Transfer dough to a floured surface. Knead vigorously for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Form the dough into a ball and place it in a greased bowl, covering it with a clean kitchen towel. Let it rest for 30 minutes in a warm place.
- During the resting time, preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C), and place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside.
- Once risen, punch down the dough and divide it into two portions. Roll out each portion into a circle, 12 inches in diameter.
- Transfer the shaped dough to parchment paper or a floured pizza peel. Add your favorite toppings.
- Slide the pizza onto the preheated stone or baking sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
