Ingredients:

  • 1 small ripe banana, mashed (approximately 1/4 cup)
  • 1/4 cup fresh mango, diced
  • 1/4 cup papaya, diced
  • 1/4 cup blueberries, whole
  • 2 tablespoons finely ground oats
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped peanuts (unsalted and unflavored)
  • 2 tablespoons finely grated carrot
  • 1/4 cup low-fat plain yogurt (unsweetened) or coconut water
  • A pinch of calcium powder (optional)
  • A pinch of multivitamin powder (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Peel the banana and mash it in a bowl until smooth. This will be the base of your fruit mixture.
  2. Dice the mango and papaya into small, baby-sized pieces that are easy for lorikeets to eat. Blueberries can be left whole.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed banana, diced mango, papaya, blueberries, grated carrot, and chopped peanuts. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
  4. Stir in the finely ground oats, followed by the low-fat yogurt or coconut water. Mix until you achieve a smooth, homogenous consistency.
  5. If desired, sprinkle a pinch of calcium powder and multivitamin powder into the mix. These supplements are crucial for the growth and health of baby lorikeets.
  6. Place the mixture in a clean feeding dish or a small cup. Ensure that the food is at room temperature before feeding it to your lorikeets.
