Ingredients:
- 1 cup (240ml) Water
- 2 tbsp (28g) Grass-fed butter or Coconut oil
- 1 tbsp (15ml) Maple syrup or Honey
- 1/4 tsp Sea salt
- 1 cup (125g) All-purpose flour
- 1 large Egg (at room temperature)
- 1 tsp (5ml) Pure vanilla extract
- 3 tbsp (35g) Coconut sugar or Granulated Monk fruit
- 1 tbsp Ground cinnamon
- Avocado oil spray
Instructions:
- In a small saucepan, combine water, butter, maple syrup, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
- Once the butter is melted and the liquid is boiling, add the flour all at once. Stir vigorously with a wooden spoon until the dough forms a ball and pulls away from the sides.
- Remove from heat and let the dough sit for 5 minutes. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until the dough is smooth and velvety.
- Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Pipe 1-inch segments directly into the air fryer basket, using kitchen shears to snip each bite. Ensure space between bites for air circulation.
- Lightly spray with avocado oil and air fry for 8 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
- While hot, toss the churro bites in a mixture of coconut sugar and cinnamon until evenly coated.
