Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (240ml) Water
  • 2 tbsp (28g) Grass-fed butter or Coconut oil
  • 1 tbsp (15ml) Maple syrup or Honey
  • 1/4 tsp Sea salt
  • 1 cup (125g) All-purpose flour
  • 1 large Egg (at room temperature)
  • 1 tsp (5ml) Pure vanilla extract
  • 3 tbsp (35g) Coconut sugar or Granulated Monk fruit
  • 1 tbsp Ground cinnamon
  • Avocado oil spray

Instructions:

  1. In a small saucepan, combine water, butter, maple syrup, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
  2. Once the butter is melted and the liquid is boiling, add the flour all at once. Stir vigorously with a wooden spoon until the dough forms a ball and pulls away from the sides.
  3. Remove from heat and let the dough sit for 5 minutes. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until the dough is smooth and velvety.
  4. Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Pipe 1-inch segments directly into the air fryer basket, using kitchen shears to snip each bite. Ensure space between bites for air circulation.
  6. Lightly spray with avocado oil and air fry for 8 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
  7. While hot, toss the churro bites in a mixture of coconut sugar and cinnamon until evenly coated.
