Ingredients:
- 1 package (12 count) King's Hawaiian Sweet Rolls
- 6 oz sliced pepperoni
- 2 cups shredded low-moisture mozzarella cheese, divided
- 1/2 cup thick pizza sauce
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp dried Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp kosher salt
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Slice the entire slab of Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally using a serrated knife.
- Place the bottom half of the rolls into your baking dish, ensuring it fits snugly.
- Spread 1 cup of the mozzarella evenly over the bottom rolls until the bread is mostly covered. This prevents the sauce from making the bottom rolls mushy.
- Arrange the pepperoni slices over the cheese in an overlapping pattern.
- Dollop the pizza sauce over the pepperoni and spread it gently with the back of a spoon.
- Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of mozzarella and the Parmesan cheese over the sauce.
- Place the top slab of rolls back onto the cheese layer.
- Whisk together the melted butter, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, onion powder, and salt.
- Paint the butter mixture over the tops and sides of the rolls until they are glistening and fully coated.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for 10 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for another 10 minutes until the cheese is bubbling and the tops are golden brown.
