Ingredients:

  • 1 package (12 count) King's Hawaiian Sweet Rolls
  • 6 oz sliced pepperoni
  • 2 cups shredded low-moisture mozzarella cheese, divided
  • 1/2 cup thick pizza sauce
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp kosher salt

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Slice the entire slab of Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally using a serrated knife.
  2. Place the bottom half of the rolls into your baking dish, ensuring it fits snugly.
  3. Spread 1 cup of the mozzarella evenly over the bottom rolls until the bread is mostly covered. This prevents the sauce from making the bottom rolls mushy.
  4. Arrange the pepperoni slices over the cheese in an overlapping pattern.
  5. Dollop the pizza sauce over the pepperoni and spread it gently with the back of a spoon.
  6. Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of mozzarella and the Parmesan cheese over the sauce.
  7. Place the top slab of rolls back onto the cheese layer.
  8. Whisk together the melted butter, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, onion powder, and salt.
  9. Paint the butter mixture over the tops and sides of the rolls until they are glistening and fully coated.
  10. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 10 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for another 10 minutes until the cheese is bubbling and the tops are golden brown.
