Ingredients:
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder

- 1 cup milk (whole or buttermilk)
- 2 large eggs

Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, combine milk, eggs, and melted butter; mix well.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients; stir until just combined (do not overmix).
- Grease the baking dish or skillet with butter.
- Pour the cornbread batter into the prepared dish.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
