Ingredients:
- 4 tablespoons (57g) unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cloves garlic, minced (approx. 2 teaspoons)
- 1/4 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 slices sourdough bread (or your favourite bread)
- 4 ounces (113g) cheese, shredded (cheddar, mozzarella, Gruyere, or a blend)
Instructions:
- Combine softened butter, minced garlic, parsley, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Mix well until evenly combined.
- Spread the garlic butter evenly on one side of each slice of bread.
- Place two slices of bread, butter-side down, in the skillet. Top each slice with half of the shredded cheese.
- Place the remaining slices of bread on top of the cheese, butter-side up.
- Cook over medium-low heat, pressing down gently with a spatula, until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted and gooey, about 5-7 minutes per side. Monitor closely to prevent burning the bread.
- Remove from skillet, slice in half if desired, and serve immediately.
