Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef
  • 1 package (9-12 oz / 255-340g) refrigerated cheese tortellini
  • 3 tablespoons (45g) unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups (approximately 60g) fresh spinach, roughly chopped
  • ½ cup (50g) grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup (120ml) heavy cream
  • ½ teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Fresh parsley or basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Cook the tortellini according to package instructions until al dente. Drain well and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat. Season with salt and pepper. Drain off any excess fat.
  3. Reduce heat to medium. Add butter to the skillet with the beef. Once melted, add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant (about 1 minute).
  4. Stir in the chopped spinach, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes (if using). Cook until the spinach wilts (about 2 minutes).
  5. Pour in the heavy cream and stir in the Parmesan cheese. Simmer gently for 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
  6. Add the cooked tortellini to the skillet and toss gently to coat everything evenly in the garlic butter sauce.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley or basil, if desired. Serve hot.
