Ingredients:

  • 8 oz (227 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup (100 g) granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) sour cream
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 10 Oreo cookies, crushed
  • 1 cup (125 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)
  • Powdered sugar (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, sugar, sour cream, and vanilla. Mix until smooth and creamy. Gently fold in crushed Oreos. Chill filling in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  2. Once chilled, scoop the filling (about 1 tablespoon per bite) and shape each scoop into a ball. Place on a lined baking sheet.
  3. In a clean bowl, whisk together flour, milk, egg, baking powder, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. In a frying pan or deep fryer, heat oil over medium heat (approximately 350°F or 175°C).
  5. Dip each filled ball into the batter, then carefully place in hot oil. Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Use a slotted spoon to transfer cooked bites to a cooling rack.
  6. Dust with powdered sugar if desired and serve warm.
