Ingredients:
- 8 oz (227 g) cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup (100 g) granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) sour cream
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 10 Oreo cookies, crushed
- 1 cup (125 g) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) milk
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)
- Powdered sugar (optional)
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, sugar, sour cream, and vanilla. Mix until smooth and creamy. Gently fold in crushed Oreos. Chill filling in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
- Once chilled, scoop the filling (about 1 tablespoon per bite) and shape each scoop into a ball. Place on a lined baking sheet.
- In a clean bowl, whisk together flour, milk, egg, baking powder, and vanilla until smooth.
- In a frying pan or deep fryer, heat oil over medium heat (approximately 350°F or 175°C).
- Dip each filled ball into the batter, then carefully place in hot oil. Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Use a slotted spoon to transfer cooked bites to a cooling rack.
- Dust with powdered sugar if desired and serve warm.
