Ingredients:

  • 4 tablespoons (57g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) milk
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • 8 slices white bread, crusts removed
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, for cooking
  • Powdered sugar (optional)
  • Maple syrup (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a small bowl, combine softened butter, sugar, and cinnamon until well mixed.
  2. In a shallow dish, whisk together eggs, milk, cream, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt.
  3. Using a rolling pin, gently flatten each slice of bread.
  4. Spread a thin layer of the cinnamon filling evenly over each flattened bread slice. Roll up tightly.
  5. Dip each roll-up into the custard mixture, ensuring all sides are coated. Let excess drip off.
  6. Melt butter in a large skillet or griddle over medium heat. Place the roll-ups seam-side down and cook, turning occasionally, until golden brown on all sides. (Approx. 2-3 minutes per side.)
  7. Remove from skillet and dust with powdered sugar. Serve immediately with maple syrup or your favorite toppings.
