Ingredients:
- 4 tablespoons (57g) unsalted butter, softened
- 1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup (120ml) milk
- 1/4 cup (60ml) heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- 8 slices white bread, crusts removed
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, for cooking
- Powdered sugar (optional)
- Maple syrup (optional)
Instructions:
- In a small bowl, combine softened butter, sugar, and cinnamon until well mixed.
- In a shallow dish, whisk together eggs, milk, cream, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt.
- Using a rolling pin, gently flatten each slice of bread.
- Spread a thin layer of the cinnamon filling evenly over each flattened bread slice. Roll up tightly.
- Dip each roll-up into the custard mixture, ensuring all sides are coated. Let excess drip off.
- Melt butter in a large skillet or griddle over medium heat. Place the roll-ups seam-side down and cook, turning occasionally, until golden brown on all sides. (Approx. 2-3 minutes per side.)
- Remove from skillet and dust with powdered sugar. Serve immediately with maple syrup or your favorite toppings.
