Ingredients:
- 1 cup (170g) dark chocolate chips (70% cocoa)
- 1/2 cup (120ml) heavy cream for chocolate layer
- 1 cup (240ml) heavy cream for vanilla layer
- 1/2 cup (60g) powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Zest of 1 medium lemon
- Zest of 1 medium orange
- 1/2 cup (120ml) cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup (60g) granulated sugar
- 1 cup (100g) mixed nuts, roughly chopped (e.g., almonds, hazelnuts)
- 2 tablespoons (30g) unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons (30g) brown sugar
Instructions:
- Melt chocolate with heavy cream in a double boiler or microwave until smooth. Pour into the prepared baking pan and chill until set.
- Whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form, then gently fold in powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Spread over the chilled chocolate layer and return to the fridge to set.
- In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, granulated sugar, and zests until smooth. Spread this mixture over the vanilla layer and chill.
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and brown sugar. Add the chopped nuts and cook until golden, then cool slightly. Spread over the chilled citrus layer.
- Chill the entire dessert for at least 30 minutes before slicing into squares and serving.
