Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups (300 g) Three Ladies Jasmine Rice
  • 2 ¼ cups (540 mL) water
  • ½ teaspoon (2.5 g) salt (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon (15 mL) coconut oil or unsalted butter (optional, for flavor)

Instructions:

  1. Place the jasmine rice in a fine-mesh sieve and rinse under cold water until the water runs clear to remove excess starch.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed rice, water, and salt (if using). Optional: Add coconut oil or butter for enhanced flavor.
  3. Over medium-high heat, bring the mixture to a boil.
  4. Once boiling, reduce heat to low, cover the pot with the lid, and simmer for 12-15 minutes until the water is absorbed.
  5. Remove the pot from heat and let it sit, covered, for an additional 10 minutes to steam and fluff.
  6. Using a rice paddle or fork, gently fluff the rice before serving.
