Ingredients:
- 4 cups Good Quality Vanilla Ice Cream (slightly softened)
- 1 cup Whole Milk (240 ml)
- 1 teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract
- 1/8 teaspoon Fine Sea Salt
- Seeds scraped from 1/2 whole Vanilla Bean
- Optional: 1 tablespoon Corn Syrup or Honey
- Optional Garnish: Whipped Cream
- Optional Garnish: Extra Vanilla Bean Seeds or grated White Chocolate
Instructions:
- Prepare the Vanilla: Carefully slice the vanilla bean lengthwise down the centre with a paring knife. Use the back of the knife or a spoon to scrape out the tiny seeds.
- Load the Blender: Add the softened ice cream, milk, vanilla extract, vanilla bean seeds, the pinch of salt, and corn syrup/honey (if using) into the blender jug.
- Blend: Secure the lid and start blending on a low speed, gradually increasing to medium-high. Blend only until smooth and creamy. Avoid over-blending, or it'll get too thin.
- Check Consistency: Stop the blender and check the thickness. If it’s too thick, add a splash more milk (1 tablespoon at a time) and pulse briefly. If too thin, add another small scoop of ice cream and pulse.
- Pour and Garnish: Immediately divide the milkshake between two chilled glasses. Top generously with whipped cream.
- The Final Flourish: Sprinkle the tops with a few extra vanilla bean seeds or a whisper of grated white chocolate for visual appeal. Serve straight away!
