Ingredients:
- 1 lb fresh organic strawberries, firm with stems intact
- 8 oz dark chocolate chips (at least 70% cacao)
- 1 tsp virgin coconut oil
- 2 tbsp hemp hearts or chia seeds
- 1 oz white chocolate (optional drizzle)
Instructions:
- Wash the strawberries under cold water and pat them individually with paper towels. Lay them out on a clean kitchen towel for at least 30 minutes to ensure they are bone-dry, keeping the green hulls intact.
- In a microwave-safe glass bowl, combine the dark chocolate and coconut oil. Heat in 30-second bursts, stirring vigorously between each interval. Alternatively, use a double boiler over barely simmering water until 90% melted, then stir until smooth.
- Holding a strawberry by the stem, dip it into the melted chocolate, tilting the bowl to ensure an even coat. Lift and shake off the excess.
- While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle with hemp hearts or chia seeds. If using white chocolate, melt it separately and drizzle over the dark chocolate layer.
- Place the strawberries on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Refrigerate for approximately 25-30 minutes until the chocolate has completely set and created a firm snap.
