Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (450g) pizza dough
  • 2 tbsp (30ml) olive oil
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) pizza sauce
  • 8 oz (225g) shredded low-moisture mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup (15g) grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tbsp (15ml) extra virgin olive oil
  • Fresh basil leaves

Instructions:

  1. Clean grill grates and preheat grill to high heat (approximately 450°F / 230°C). Liberally coat the grates with olive oil using a pastry brush.
  2. Roll the pizza dough into a 12-inch circle and brush both sides lightly with olive oil.
  3. Place the dough directly onto the hot grates, close the lid, and cook for 2–3 minutes until the bottom is mahogany-colored and the dough has puffed.
  4. Flip the dough using tongs. Quickly spread the pizza sauce on the seared side, followed by the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  5. Close the lid and cook for another 3–5 minutes until the cheese is bubbling and the edges are crisp.
  6. Remove from heat, drizzle with extra virgin olive oil, and garnish with fresh basil leaves.
