Ingredients:
- 1 lb (450g) pizza dough
- 2 tbsp (30ml) olive oil
- 1/2 cup (120ml) pizza sauce
- 8 oz (225g) shredded low-moisture mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup (15g) grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tbsp (15ml) extra virgin olive oil
- Fresh basil leaves
Instructions:
- Clean grill grates and preheat grill to high heat (approximately 450°F / 230°C). Liberally coat the grates with olive oil using a pastry brush.
- Roll the pizza dough into a 12-inch circle and brush both sides lightly with olive oil.
- Place the dough directly onto the hot grates, close the lid, and cook for 2–3 minutes until the bottom is mahogany-colored and the dough has puffed.
- Flip the dough using tongs. Quickly spread the pizza sauce on the seared side, followed by the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Close the lid and cook for another 3–5 minutes until the cheese is bubbling and the edges are crisp.
- Remove from heat, drizzle with extra virgin olive oil, and garnish with fresh basil leaves.
