Ingredients:
- ½ cup (100g) popcorn kernels
- ¼ cup (50g) granulated sugar
- ¼ cup (60ml) vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon (6g) salt
- Optional: 2 tablespoons (30g) butter, melted
Instructions:
- Place the Dutch oven over medium-high heat on the hob.
- Add the oil, popcorn kernels, sugar, and salt to the Dutch oven.
- Place the lid on the Dutch oven.
- Cook, stirring constantly with a heatproof spatula, to prevent burning.
- Cook until the popping slows to only a few seconds between pops.
- Immediately remove the Dutch oven from the heat.
- Let the dutch oven rest for a minute or two to allow any leftover kernels to pop.
- Carefully pour the kettle corn into the large bowl.
- If using, drizzle the melted butter over the kettle corn and gently toss to coat.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
