Ingredients:

  • 36 chocolate sandwich cookies (like Oreos), finely crushed (about 3 cups) (300g)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted (56g)
  • 1 (3.4 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix (96g)
  • 3 cups cold whole milk (720ml)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened (226g)
  • 1 cup heavy cream (240ml)
  • ½ cup powdered sugar (60g)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (5ml)
  • Gummy worms, assorted (about 4 ounces) (113g)
  • Optional: Fresh mint sprigs, edible flowers, candy flowers, chocolate rocks, or other decorative candies

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Dirt: Combine crushed cookies and melted butter. Press into the bottom of the dish or cups.
  2. Make the Pudding Base: In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add the powdered sugar and beat until light and fluffy. Stir in vanilla extract.
  3. Prepare Instant Pudding: In a separate bowl, whisk together the instant pudding mix and cold milk until combined. Let stand for 5 minutes to thicken slightly.
  4. Whip the Cream: In another bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
  5. Combine Pudding and Cream: Gently fold the thickened instant pudding into the cream cheese mixture. Fold in the whipped cream until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  6. Layer the Dessert: Spread half of the pudding mixture over the cookie dirt. Sprinkle with some crushed cookies. Spread the remaining pudding mixture over the cookies and top with the remaining cookie crumbs.
  7. Chill: Cover the dish or cups with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight.
  8. Decorate: Before serving, decorate with gummy worms and other candies to resemble a garden. Add fresh mint sprigs or edible flowers for a touch of elegance (optional).
