Ingredients:
- 4 cups all-purpose flour (480g)
- 1 packet active dry yeast (2 ¼ teaspoons or 7g)
- 1 ½ cups warm water (110°F/45°C, 360ml)
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (25g)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (30ml)
- 1 teaspoon salt (5g)
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted (56g)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder (4g)
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (1g)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt (1.5g)
Instructions:
- Combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast in a bowl. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until bubbly.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
- On a floured surface, knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 45 minutes, or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the risen dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a rope shape, about 6-8 inches long.
- Place the shaped breadsticks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover and let rise for another 15-20 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
- While the breadsticks are baking, combine melted butter, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and salt.
- Once out of the oven, brush the warm breadsticks with the garlic butter mixture.
