Ingredients:

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour (480g)
  • 1 packet active dry yeast (2 ¼ teaspoons or 7g)
  • 1 ½ cups warm water (110°F/45°C, 360ml)
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (25g)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (30ml)
  • 1 teaspoon salt (5g)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted (56g)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (4g)
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (1g)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt (1.5g)

Instructions:

  1. Combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast in a bowl. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until bubbly.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. On a floured surface, knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 45 minutes, or until doubled in size.
  5. Punch down the risen dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a rope shape, about 6-8 inches long.
  6. Place the shaped breadsticks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover and let rise for another 15-20 minutes.
  7. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  8. While the breadsticks are baking, combine melted butter, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and salt.
  9. Once out of the oven, brush the warm breadsticks with the garlic butter mixture.
  10. Enjoy your delicious breadsticks fresh with your favorite Italian dish!
