Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly oil it.
- In a small bowl, stir together the tomato passata, dried oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to season the sauce.
- Lightly brush the cut side of each muffin half with olive oil. Place the halves oil-side down on the lined baking sheet.
- Pre-toast the muffin halves by baking them for 3–4 minutes until they are firm and lightly golden. This prevents a soggy bottom.
- Remove the tray. Spread a thin, even layer of the seasoned tomato sauce over the pre-toasted surface of each muffin half.
- Top generously with mozzarella cheese, followed by any desired meat or vegetable toppings. Finish with a light dusting of grated Parmesan.
- Return the pizzas to the oven. Bake for 5–8 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted, bubbly, and the edges of the muffin crust are golden brown.
- Remove from the oven. Garnish immediately with fresh basil leaves if using. Slice carefully and serve hot.
