Ingredients:

  • 1 pound (454g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) milk
  • ½ cup (60g) all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup (50g) panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) paprika
  • ½ teaspoon (2.5ml) garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon (2.5ml) onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon (1.25ml) black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon (1.25ml) salt
  • Cooking spray (olive oil or avocado oil)

Instructions:

  1. Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels. This helps the coating stick.
  2. In the first bowl, whisk together the egg and milk. In the second bowl, place the flour. In the third bowl, combine the panko breadcrumbs, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Dredge each shrimp in the flour, then dip in the egg mixture, and finally coat thoroughly in the panko breadcrumb mixture.
  4. If your air fryer requires preheating, preheat to 400°F (200°C) for 3 minutes.
  5. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Place the shrimp in a single layer, making sure they are not overcrowded. You may need to cook in batches.
  6. Air fry for 4-5 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Shrimp are done when they are pink and opaque and the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).
