Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds chicken wings (drumettes and wingettes)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or cooking spray
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder or cayenne (optional)
  • ¼ cup buffalo hot sauce
  • 1 tablespoon melted unsalted butter
  • Honey, soy sauce, or seasoning blends (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Pat dry chicken wings with paper towels to remove excess moisture. Toss wings with olive oil or spray until lightly coated.
  2. Mix garlic powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, salt, and chili powder in a small bowl. Sprinkle evenly over wings and toss to coat.
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) and heat for 3-5 minutes.
  4. Arrange wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd; cook in batches if necessary. Shake or turn wings halfway through.
  5. Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 25-30 minutes, shaking every 8-10 minutes. Check for crispiness and internal temperature (should reach 165°F/74°C).
  6. For buffalo wings, toss cooked wings with hot sauce and melted butter in a bowl. For dry rub, sprinkle over hot wings and toss gently.
  7. Serve immediately with dips, celery, or blue cheese dressing. Enjoy your chicken wings air fryer style!
