Ingredients:
- 8 oz fettuccine pasta
- Salt, to taste (for boiling water)
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tbsp olive oil (optional)
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 cup heavy cream
- .5 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- .25 cup unsalted butter
- .5 tsp garlic powder (optional)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
- In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil.
- Add the fettuccine and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
- Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil if using.
- Add chopped onions and sauté until translucent (about 3–4 minutes).
- Stir in minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
- Add ground beef; season with salt and pepper.
- Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula (about 5–7 minutes). Drain excess fat if necessary.
- In another saucepan over medium heat, melt butter.
- Pour in heavy cream; whisk continuously until heated through but not boiling.
- Reduce heat to low; stir in Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
- Season with garlic powder (if using), salt, and pepper.
- Add cooked fettuccine into the skillet with ground beef mixture; pour Alfredo sauce over top.
