Ingredients:
- 4 cups (950 ml) water
- 2 tablespoons (10 g) loose black tea or 4 tea bags
- 1 cup (100 g) fresh or frozen cranberries
- ¼ cup (50 g) granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
- Zest of 1 orange (about 1 tablespoon)
- Optional: Fresh mint leaves for garnish
- Optional: Slices of lemon or orange for garnish
Instructions:
- In a saucepan, combine 1 cup of cranberries with ¼ cup of sugar and 1 cup of water. Bring to a boil and then reduce heat, simmering for 10 minutes until berries burst and release juices.
- In a separate pot, bring the remaining 3 cups of water to a boil. Add the loose black tea or tea bags and let steep based on package instructions, usually around 5 minutes.
- Strain the cranberry mixture into the brewed tea, discarding the solids. Stir in the orange zest and adjust sweetness as necessary.
- Serve hot in mugs or chilled over ice. Garnish with fresh mint or citrus slices, if desired.
