Ingredients:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup water
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • ½ cup finely chopped pecans

Instructions:

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a heavy-bottomed pot, heat the butter, sugar, and water over medium-low heat.
  3. Stir gently with a wooden spoon until the butter melts completely.
  4. Continue cooking until the mixture turns amber and reaches a temperature of 295°F (approximately 15–20 minutes). Stir occasionally and reduce heat if necessary to prevent burning.
  5. Carefully pour the hot toffee onto the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Immediately sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot toffee layer.
  7. After waiting for 2–3 minutes for the chocolate to soften, use an offset spatula to spread it evenly across the surface.
  8. Sprinkle finely chopped pecans on top of the melted chocolate and press them down slightly into it.
  9. Allow it to set at room temperature for about 2 hours until firm.
  10. Once set, break or cut into bite-sized pieces for serving or gifting!
